FALL 2015

Leaf Storm Press to publish Young Adult novel by Robert Wilder

Santa Fe, NM–September 9, 2015. Leaf Storm Press today announced that it will publish Nickel, a young adult novel by Robert Wilder. Nickel will be released in the summer of 2016.About Nickel:
Being a teenager is hard enough without your mother in rehab, your slightly inept stepfather doing his best not to screw things up, and your closest friend struck with a mysterious, debilitating illness. An admittedly quirky teenage boy, Coy is focused on his best friend Monroe, a girl who is finally diagnosed with heavy metal poisoning from her braces. As her illness manifests physically, Monroe’s outward appearance is mirrored by the inner turmoil of Coy, her only friend. Once Monroe gets sicker and Coy gets a girlfriend from another social crowd, the balance tips and Coy has to figure out how not to give up on his friend, his family, or himself. In this stunning debut novel, veteran teacher and acclaimed author, Robert Wilder (Daddy Needs A DrinkTales From The Teachers’ Lounge), offers readers a hilarious, heartbreaking and honest portrayal of the complicated world of being a teenager today.

Welcome to My Revamped Website (September 2011)

It’s been a while I know. Hope all is well-ish with you and yours. Thanks to Garret at Array, the site is much cleaner and has no STDs as far as we know. As for me, True Believers, I am still writing my column at the Santa Fe Reporter, writing articles (last one was in Plum Hamptons), working on a novel, being chatty on The Big Show With Honey Harris and the Madeleine Brand Show, teaching teenagers about books and stuff, and driving my cargoyles around.

More news to come about book festivals, green chile, my son London’s new postcards and whatever else flies into my windshield.
